Job Title: LEAP Recruitment Strategist                                                            Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Primary Purpose:

 

The primary purpose is to collaborate with data, the department, and regional Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) in order to develop, implement, and execute a strategy aimed at making the District a premier and welcoming destination for diverse teachers. This involves creating objective and meaningful criteria for identifying and evaluating candidates, assessing resumes and credentials, and conducting interviews to expand the District's network of potential employees. Additionally, the primary purpose includes connecting with candidates through a broad spectrum of social media, identifying suitable applicants, and enhancing the District's brand profile locally, statewide, nationally, and internationally. The role also encompasses in-depth research in hiring trends, marketing, public relations, and advertising. Furthermore, this position will collaborate with other departments and campuses to inform and refine strategies for teacher recruitment and retention in alignment with the District's Strategic Plan.

 

Qualifications:

 

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Bilingual (preferred)

 

Special Knowledge Skills:

  • Ability to analyze data sets, interpret results, and plan a course of action
  • Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain an effective working relationship, or maintain good rapport, with the community and colleagues.
  • Skill and experience in problem-solving and strategic planning
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to use software programs to analyze and present data
  • Ability to multi-task and meet established deadlines
  • Solution oriented with exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Initiative to keep up with industry changes and knowledge of recruiting, data analysis, and social media trends and platforms
  • Must be able to work with limited or no supervision
  • The ability to work within a team and coordinate and contribute to team activities

 

Experience:

  • Professional experience in using and analyzing multiple data systems
  • 3-5 years of experience in recruiting, marketing, public relations, and/or leadership (preferred)
  • Human Resources experience (preferred)

 

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

            Data Management and Analysis

  • Collect, analyze, and report on related data sets to inform the recruitment strategy and progress
  • Perform extracting, importing, and exporting of data in various database applications
  • Analyze and provide updates and/or reports to various audiences on District progress of hiring and retention
  • Generate, analyze, interpret, organize and present experimental data
  • Assist in implementation, testing and validating data and software systems
  • Audit data regularly to ensure integrity and quality

Relationship Building

  • Establish and grow relationships with Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs)
  • Connect with a variety of stakeholders with clarity and credibility

Recruitment and Retention

  • Use web-based technology and social media to connect with possible candidates and to analyze hiring trends
  • Vet candidates through review of transcripts and work history
  • Travel to in-state, out of state and possible international sites for recruitment
  • Understand and learn teacher preparation program content and trends
  • Assist and participate in district job fairs (virtual and face-to-face)
  • Assist with any third-party source for recruiting
  • Analyze the recruiting process annually and develop solutions for improvements and/or changes to recruitment and retention
  • Leverage the district in public relations, marketing, and advertising in regards to recruiting (to include virtual, in person, and via social media)
  • Work with the International Teacher Coordinator to recruit outside of the United States
  • Follow district policies, handbook, and Strategic Plan
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Working Conditions:

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

 

Maintain emotional control under stress.  High volume of districtwide, statewide, and some international travel. Possible prolonged or irregular hours.  Ability to sit, bend, stoop, reach, and stand for extended periods of time.  Ability to lift up to 25 pounds without assistance.  Prolonged periods of time sitting and/or standing.
