Program: Career & Technical Education | 187-Day Contract | SkillsUSA OpportunityWe are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Construction Technology Teacher to join ourCareer & Technical Education (CTE) team at Stephenville High School. The ideal candidatewill have a strong background in construction, carpentry, and related trades, along with apassion for teaching high school students through hands-on learning in a shop-basedenvironment. This is a classroom teaching position (no FFA or livestock responsibilities),with the opportunity to participate in SkillsUSA and help develop a competitive constructionprogram.Primary Responsibilities:- Teach Construction Technology courses aligned to the CTE pathway, including basic andadvanced carpentry, safety, tool use, and residential construction- Manage and maintain a safe and organized shop/lab environment- Provide students with real-world, industry-based skills and certifications- Develop lessons that incorporate construction math, blueprint reading, framing, andfinishing- Guide students through project-based learning and team collaboration- Encourage and support student involvement in SkillsUSA competitions and events- Maintain student progress and records in accordance with school and CTE programrequirementsPreferred Qualifications:- Strong background in construction (carpentry, framing, cabinetry, residential construction,etc.)- Ability to manage a lab/shop environment safely and efficiently- Teaching certification in Trade & Industrial Education or ability to become certified- Experience with SkillsUSA or other career-based student organizations is a plus- Strong communication and classroom management skillsAdditional Info:- 187-day contract (no summer responsibilities)- Stipend provided- Supportive administration and established CTE team- Classroom/shop environment only (no livestock or FFA duties)- Opportunity to build a program and compete in SkillsUSA
