QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's and Master's degree in Education, with preference for advanced studies in Curriculum and Instruction or Educational Leadership.
  • Valid Texas Teacher's Certificate.
  • Valid principal certification or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement research-based strategies in educational settings.
  • Proven ability to plan, implement, deliver, and sustain professional development for educational leaders, particularly in curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of curriculum development, instruction, assessment, school improvement, and organizational culture.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state accountability standards and programs.
  • Familiarity with performance-based monitoring requirements.
  • Preferred experience as a lead principal or district-level curriculum leader.
  • Recommendation from the ESC Executive Director.
  • Flexibility for acceptable variations of the above qualifications as approved by the Executive Director.

CENTER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process all personal timekeeping, travel reporting and other paperwork in a timely manner
  • Maintain professional attire and grooming appropriate for specific job position.
  • Demonstrate punctual and regular attendance on the job
  • Reports for work ready to perform responsibilities
  • Supports the mission, goals, and objectives of the ESC
  • Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the ESC
  • Performs professional responsibilities as required by ESC policies, processes, and procedures
  • Meets proficiency levels of required technology skills as outlined by supervisor
  • Incorporates appropriate technology in daily work and exhibits continual growth in technologies as outlined by supervisor
  • Exhibit professionalism in all situations at the ESC
  • Develop collaborative and positive relationships with schools and co-workers
  • Exhibit planning and leadership on assigned tasks and projects
  • Ability to take initiative and exhibit innovative thinking

DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Support Strong Foundations Grant planning and implementation, serving as district lead.
Assist school districts in the adoption, integration, and effective use of OER resources within instructional programs.
Monitor submission of grant materials for LEAs and Product Advisors.
Develop and deliver targeted professional development, training, and technical assistance for educators and administrators on OER implementation.
Curate and create high-quality supplemental resources to enhance district implementation of TEA OER materials.
Collaborate with ESC curriculum consultants and staff on workshops, special projects, and district-specific strategic initiatives related to OER.
Conduct on-site visits to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to provide direct support and address specific implementation needs.
Promote TEA OER resources through various communication channels, including newsletters, webinars, and district outreach events.
Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of OER initiatives, using findings to refine and improve services.
Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure alignment with Region 8 ESC and TEA objectives.
Participate in conferences, interdepartmental coordination efforts, and stakeholder meetings to enhance OER impact and alignment.
Actively engage in professional growth opportunities to remain current in OER best practices and instructional leadership.
Travel within and beyond the region as necessary to support program objectives and district needs.

  • Additional projects as assigned by supervisor or Executive Director

EMPLOYMENT:

 

Up to 226 working days

This is an at-will employment position.
In the event of an economic slump, a reduction-in-force may be necessary. Employees will be notified in writing
