Job Title: Coordinator, Marketing and Advertising - Athletics
Reports To: Executive Director, Athletics
Classification: Administrative
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Primary Purpose: The Marketing & Advertising Coordinator will handle the day-to-day administrative tasks associated with the sports marketing program as well as identify opportunities to increase the program to encompass marketing, revenue generation, and corporate sponsorship for Spring Branch ISD as a whole. This individual will actively apply marketing expertise in the K-12 public school arena.
Qualifications/Skills: Education/Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree, required.
  • Knowledge of the Memorial /Spring Branch community a plus.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Strong word processing, spreadsheet and database management skills.
    Candidate should possess the ability to organize and manage a variety of simultaneous activities.
  • Strong media, marketing, agency, client management or project management background.
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional and digital marketing and market research methods, data analytics and tools.   
  • Ability to interpret data and make data-informed decisions.
  • Proven excellence in developing, implementing, managing and measuring effective marketing plans and strategies.
  • Demonstrated skills in writing, editing, meeting facilitation, training and public speaking.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, interpersonal, networking and collaboration skills.
  • Thorough knowledge and proven experience in strategic event planning, management and execution.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of personality types, prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a high-volume, very fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Ability to implement policy and procedures.
Experience:
  • 2-4 years of marketing, media, sales experience, agency client management or project management background, preferred.
  • Experience in developing, managing and executing successful events.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sports marketing strategies and campaigns.
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:
Management Duties
  • Day to day correspondence with current corporate sponsors.
  • Work with the Executive Director of Athletics to create compelling sales presentations and meet with potential sponsors.
  • Assist in identifying market potential and establishing program revenue goals.
  • Assist in the creation of all marketing promotional materials.
  • Act as the liaison between Spring Branch ISD and campus booster clubs as it applies to scheduled events.
  • Event day sponsor coordination at Athletic events.
  • Assist in the creation of unique game scripts for scheduled Athletic events.
  • Coordinate community outreach efforts to raise awareness of Athletic and Spring Branch ISD special events.
  • Help manage execution of all Athletic planned events to ensure sponsor fulfillment.
  • Other Special Events & Reservations departmental duties as assigned.
  • May be required to assist other departments as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory
Responsibilities:

Equipment Used: Computer, printer, audio/video equipment, copier, fax machine, projector, digital camera, scanner.
Working Conditions: Mental Demands:
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Work with frequent interruptions.
  • This position requires regular in-person interaction with the public.
Physical Demands:
  • Repetitive hand motions.
  • Prolonged use of the computer.
  • Moderate lifting up to 50lbs maximum and carrying.
  • Occasional non-standard work hours may be required.
  • Occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
  • Regular district wide travel to multiple work locations as assigned.
Environmental Factors:
  • Work for continuous or extended periods exposed to, but not limited to the sun, heat, cold, poor weather conditions, and excessive noise (intermittent); periods of constant noise.
  • Dust, fumes, smoke, or gases.
