Are you an audit professional looking to help improve operations and provide value added services to Round Rock ISD? The District is seeking an experienced Senior Auditor to assist the audit team to evaluate operations to ensure they are working effectively and efficiently.
About the Department:
The Round Rock ISD Internal Audit Department provides independent, objective assurance and advisory services to the Board of Trustees and Superintendent. The scope of internal auditing is evaluating and improving the District’s governance, risk management, and internal control processes. In addition, Internal Audit helps ensure to the public that the District maintains an ethical culture and is complying with all applicable laws and/regulations.
About the Role:
As a Senior Auditor, you will assist in planning, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive internal audit process. You will conduct various analyses and appraisals to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of the District’s systems of internal control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of the annual audit plan using appropriate risk assessment techniques.
- Perform financial, operational, compliance and program audit procedures with minimal supervision.
- Collect, analyze, and summarize documentary evidence to support audit conclusions.
- Prepare audit work papers in conformance with professional standards.
- Develop clear and concise written audit reports summarizing audit results and offering recommendations for improvement of controls and operations.
- Assist in the preparation of reports to the Board of Trustees summarizing results of audit activities.
- Communicate findings, conclusions, and recommendations, both orally and in writing, to others.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Professional certification relevant to the position
- Three years of related experience (five years of related experience preferred)
