PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Supervise and support the driver workforce by providing safe, efficient and quality bus routes and field trip services in an effective and professional manner.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:
Must hold a high school diploma or GED
Must hold a valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (Class B-CDL) with Passenger & School Bus Endorsements: Must hold a valid Texas School Bus Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to use maps and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to follow routes and locate addresses Ability to read and understand documents including policies and procedures manuals Ability to receive and give written and verbal instructions Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficient use of telephone & radio communications
Experience:
Minimum of three or more years’ experience in ground transportation or similar industry preferred
Minimum of two years supervisory experience preferred Knowledge and operation of the GPS bus system
Familiar with bus operations including dispatch and maintenance repair.
