Primary Purpose:
The Route Services Manager will supervise all aspects of daily transportation service for home to school routes, shuttles, and field trips including ensuring effective communication to transportation staff, campuses and parents. The Route Services Manager provides direct oversight to the dispatch center, dispatch staff, routing staff, field trip coordinator, drivers and bus monitors. Provide Dispatch scheduling, training and compliance while ensuring operational effectiveness of all equipment, systems, and processes. The Route Services manager will actively dispatch during route times in conjunction with other dispatch staff.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or equivalent work experience.
Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
Must hold a valid Texas School Bus Certification
TAPT Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to read and understand documents including policies and procedures manuals
Ability to receive and provide effective written and verbal instructions
Exhibit strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and planning skills
Proficient use of telephone & radio communications
Ability to use maps and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to follow routes and locate addresses
Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam
Experience:
Prior experience as certified school bus driver preferred
Prior experience as a pupil transportation dispatcher required
Minimum of two years supervisory experience required
