QUALIFICATIONS:

          Required

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or a related field, with five (5) years of experience at a high level of responsibility OR
• High School Diploma or equivalent with five (5) years of experience at a high level of responsibility

 
         Preferred

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and TASBO Certification

 
       Special Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of the Texas Education Agency (TEA) Financial Accountability System Resource Guide
• Knowledge of applicable State of Texas and United States government and government agency compliance requirements
• Knowledge of governmental accounting and auditing principles established by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB)
• Experience with a strong knowledge of Oracle 12 financial applications
• Ability to key in numerous and complex transactions related to funds under supervision.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, evaluate accounting problems, develop data, and recommend improved procedures.
• Compute, prepare, and perform journal entries related to internal service funds
• Prepare income statements, balance sheets, and other reports for internal service funds
• Assist in developing revenue and expenditure estimates for original and amended budgets
• Work with Curtis Culwell Center staff to account for day to day operations of the Curtis Culwell Center
• Ability to use software to develop complex accounting reports, spreadsheets, and databases
• Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
