Job Scope
Oversees daily operation of one or more functions of a department or a campus. Directs staff in the development and implementation of function or campus policies, procedures, and programs. Adheres to both district policy and governmental regulations concerning function or campus operations. Manages team or campus structure, development, training, and planning.
Position Summary
Actualizes the goals of the Board of Trustees, Superintendent of Schools, and the San Antonio ISD community by directing and monitoring design best practices related to District-wide capital improvement programs. Manages and oversees the activities of a project team including Architects, Engineers, consultants, project managers, and inspectors. Administer and direct facility design development support consistent with Board policies, administrative regulations, procedures, and requirements of regulatory agencies that will provide and enhance student achievement by improving the learning environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Engineering/related field or 4 years equivalent experience, and
- 10+ years of experience in planning, design, construction, architecture and/or engineering fields to include:
- 4+ years in managing medium to large size construction projects for governmental, political subdivisions, school districts, or private sector, and
- 4+ years of progressive leadership experience to include:
- Planning, Organizing, Staffing, Directing, and Managing employees or teams.
- Coaching, Mentoring, Developing, and Performance Managing employees or teams.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and good driving record; must meet and maintain liability coverage eligibility.
- Candidate must have a satisfactory outcome of a fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
