Job Description: Agricultural Science Teacher (Ag Mech. Focus)
District: Turkey-Quitaque ISD (Valley School)
Position: Agricultural Science Teacher
Contract: 11-Month (Commensurate with experience)
Reports to: Principal / Superintendent

We are seeking a dedicated, collaborative, high-energy educator to lead our Agricultural Mechanics program and serve as a cornerstone of our FFA chapter.
Position Summary
Valley is seeking a collaborative, motivated Ag/CTE teacher to manage and lead the Ag-Mech (Shop) side of our Ag program, engage and lead our students in FFA competitions, and partner with and support current staff who oversee the animal and plant sciences side.
Primary Responsibilities
- Classroom Instruction (Focus: Ag Mech)
- Competently deliver classroom curriculum, manage shop equipment and cleanliness, provide hands-on learning experiences and model appropriate technical skills.
- FFA & Leadership Development
- Work with co-teacher to lead FFA Chapter, coach LDE and CDE teams, and coordinate and supervise student travel.
- Community & Administrative
- Engage with local communities to open experiences and opportunities for student learning and progress, ensure alignment of program offerings to needs and desires of local environment, manage budget, and consistently work to grow the program.
- Livestock & Project Supervision
- Willing to collaborate with and support co-teacher who leads this part of the program.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Agricultural Science or related field.
- Certification: Valid Texas Teacher Certificate in Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (Grades 6-12).
- Licenses: Valid Texas Driver’s License with a clean driving record (CDL preferred or must be willing to obtain for transporting students/trailers).
- Skills: * Proficiency in various welding and fabrication techniques.
- FFA, CDE, LDE knowledge and experience
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays during show season.
