EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology related field from an accredited four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Two years related experience and/or training
One year of experience in the following or ability to obtain training within six (6) months:
• Infor Global HR
• Infor Lawson
• Lawson applications and development tools including Process Flow, Design Studio, Lawson Business Intelligence and Smart Office
• 4GL Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL)
High School Diplomas and college/university degrees must be obtained from an accredited program or university approved by the United States Department of Education and the Texas Education Agency.
PRIMARY PURPOSE SUMMARY:
Provides development, maintenance and support of current business systems including Infor Lawson Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for financial, human resources, payroll, benefits, and procurement applications. Communicates with various outside agencies, internal departments and campuses to determine and define District needs. With minimum supervision, analyzes, designs, codes, tests, and implements enhancements/modifications to satisfy determined requirements. Updates documentation of all programming changes made to software. Serves as Lawson Business Intelligence Administrator. Assists in the creation of documentation and training for the various applications. Works with management in defining short and long range plans and setting priorities for projects.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyzes, designs, and develops software enhancements/modifications as assigned and ensures changes conform to District requirements.
2. Analyzes, designs, and develops software enhancements/modifications using Lawson Process Flow Automation, Lawson Process Designer, and Lawson 4GL.
3. Analyzes, designs, and develops crystal reports.
4. Develops, tests, and validates SQL queries.
5. Serves as Lawson Business Intelligence Administrator.
6. Serves as backup Lawson Process Flow Administrator.
7. Supports Lawson Landmark and S3 applications.
8. Maintains and supports existing systems.
9. Conducts training programs for users as needed.
10. Makes independent objective decisions without procrastination based on adequate information and research.
11. Evaluates and analyzes business processes, software capabilities, and data flow, and recommends enhancements to increase system functionality.
12. Works with users to determine the needs and requirements for new applications.
13. Evaluates state and local reporting requirements and ensures that mandated information is supplied in a correct and proper format.
14. Works under minimum supervision.
15. Maintains confidentiality of information.
16. Reports to work every day.
17. Performs additional duties and accepts other responsibilities as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficiency in Crystal Reports or other reporting software
• Proficiency in the Structured Query Language (SQL)
• Ability to read and interpret technical material
• Ability to establish innovative and creative approaches to problem solving
• Ability to comprehend oral and written communication from various outside agencies and internal departments
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff members to maintain efficient software designs and standards
• Valid Texas Driver's License with driving record that meets the requirements of the District
