Primary Purpose:
To provide support to educators, administrators, and central office staff in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Support the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and curriculum department concerning creation, implementation and evaluation of curriculum, assessments, training, professional learning communities (PLCs) and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and ensuring collaboration among the curriculum team and campuses. Provide overarching guidance with support systems/programs that impact academics, social emotional needs, behavioral needs, and counseling needs.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Master’s Degree
- Texas Principal Certification (preferred)
- Training in the State Appraisal System

Experience:
- Five years Classroom Experience
- Three years Experience as a Campus Administrator or District Administrator (preferred)
- Three years Central Office Experience (preferred)
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies
- Assist the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in special projects, strategic planning, and in resolving miscellaneous needs
- Work with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Curriculum Department/ Intervention Services and campuses on supporting overall PK-12 curriculum and instruction needs for the district
- Work with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction and the Curriculum Department/Intervention Services to ensure a written, taught, and assessed curriculum in special programs such as CTE, AP, IB, GT, Dual Credit, Special Education, 504 supports, Emergent Bilingual/Dual Language supports are being provided and implemented with fidelity across the district
- Work with the Director of Professional Learning to ensure a professional learning program aligned to district initiatives and the needs of the educators and learners in the district
- Partner with the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Director of Professional Learning and the Executive Director of Technology and technology team to ensure needs for digital resources/tools/training are being provided for the district
- Partner with Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum Instruction, Executive Director of Intervention Services, Curriculum Department and Campus Administrators to ensure processes are in place across the district for professional learning communities (PLCs) and multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS)
- Apply research and data to improve the content, sequence, and outcomes of the teaching-learning process
- Conduct frequent classroom walkthroughs to monitor implementation and effectiveness of instruction and PLCs
- Assist the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Curriculum Department and campuses in curriculum and instruction needs concerning purchasing and budgeting, including Instructional Materials allotment and focusing on any needs with federal funds
- Partner with the District Support Counselors and Campus Counselors to help guide our comprehensive counseling program and curriculum and training needs
Student Growth and Development
- Monitor instruction for effectiveness in supporting career, college and military readiness
- Analyze a variety of data sources to adjust instruction for maximum learner growth and development
- Evaluate program effectiveness based on data sources
- Facilitate the development, improvement and evaluation of district through goals within the district improvement plan and strategic initiatives
- Ensure support with academic, social emotional, behavioral and needs across the district
- Provide support to our counseling program for social emotional needs, mental health and our comprehensive counseling program
Administrative and Fiscal Management
- Compile budgets and cost estimates based on documented program needs
- Participate in the hiring, development and evaluation of directors and instructional coaches
- Assist in developing observation methods to improve educator effectiveness and to garner feedback on the curriculum
- Ensure assessment data is used to promote student growth
Communication
- Provide two-way communication with principals, educators, parents and community
- Demonstrate skill in conflict resolution with administrators, educators and parents
- Collaborate with districts on leadership development and instructional programs
Community Relations
- Articulate the district’s mission, instructional philosophy and curriculum implementation strategies to the community and solicit its support in realizing the district mission and goals
- Demonstrate awareness of district-community needs and initiate activities to meet those needs
