About You

We’re looking for a Compliance Specialist to work remotely and travel weekly in-state in a fast-paced Facility Services division. The position provides information, instruction, and services related to environmental regulatory compliance and facilities services, products, and issues to Texas public school districts and other educational and governmental entities. The position is entry-level with the opportunity for professional development and advancement. This is a Texas-based remote position requiring substantial travel to school districts throughout the state. 

A Typical Day 

  • Travel to member districts to assist them through providing services.
  • Effectively market and provide compliance and facility-related products and services. 
  • Collaborate with other staff in the performance of responsibilities and services.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Perform onsite building inspections and data collection utilizing regulatory and industry protocols and guidelines helping school districts gain compliance and effectively plan for the future of their facilities. 
  • Perform data input, report writing, management planner duties, and necessary updates related to documentation of inspection and service findings. 
  • Build and maintain member relationships. 
  • Use knowledge and experienced gained from position to present training presentations and information seminars in compliance and facility related areas. 
  • Assist with non-compliance related services before and after required licensing and certification is completed.
  • Work cooperatively with division staff and management to develop professionally. 
  • Position is home-based with substantial in-state travel, making a strong work ethic, honesty, and accountability requirements of the position. 
  • The position answers to a regional manager responsible for the success of staff, members, and division services within the regional territory. 

Skills for Success

Education and Experience: 

  • 60 hours or an Associate's degree in an environmental study. 
  • Bachelor's degree in science-related field preferred. 
  • Experience in environmental or facility regulatory compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Ability to obtain, maintain, and use various state licenses (asbestos and mold) to perform contract services for customer entities within 6 months of hire. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction or supervision. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to visit Texas public schools and must successfully pass a regulatory criminal background check. 
  • Ability to travel with no more than one driving violation on most recent three-year Motor Vehicle Report.
